Destanie is a licensed social worker who holds her Master’s degree in social work from Case Western Reserve University, and Bachelors degrees in psychology and human development and family studies from Bowling Green State University. Since graduation, Destanie has focused her practice on working with children and adolescents to address various concerns including anger, anxiety, depression,self-esteem, and trauma.

Destanie believes that a key factor for successful therapy is the therapeutic relationship built with each client. She strives to create a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment in which client’s feel comfortable expressing themselves. She utilizes a trauma informed and strengths based approach with each client. Destanie blends the principles of evidenced based practices, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, with play, movement, and art. She believes that through these methods, children and adolescents are empowered to meet their goals.
